Return of the Slimming World Plateau
Grrrrrrr! Another week with a ½lb gain – regaining the ½lb I lost last week (which I gained the week before). Yes, folks, the Slimming World Plateau is back.
My week
- Average Syns per day: 12.7
- Average Speed foods per day: 11.3
- SP days: 3
- Body Magic days: 5
- Result: +½lb
- Total loss: -4st 10lbs
It’s like I’ve got an 8oz weight and I’m doing this stupid “to you, to me” sketch with the Chuckle Brothers. On one week, off the next, and repeat. I hate you, Plateau!
What’s really annoying is that, by rights, this week’s result should have been a maintain. Had I weighed in at group, that’s more than likely what I’d have got.
But yours truly has received the dreaded PING from the NHS Covid-19 app, so I have to self-isolate (even though I’m absolutely fine, and Covid-free).
A return to weighing in at home
That means today’s weigh-in was on my own scales, and they weigh ½lb more than those of my consultant (although it was a stand-in consultant today).
So it’s a gain, not a maintain, and my old nemesis, the plateau, is back. That’s a bit annoying when I’ve been particularly angelic with my Syns this past week.
I’ve averaged 12.7 Syns per day, and that’s the lowest since the end of April. It’s true what they say, those final few pounds before Target are the hardest to shift.
I’m not too disparaged, though. I know plateaus happen – I had my last one in the spring – and I know that, if I stick to the plan, it will eventually pass.
I’ve just gotta keep on keeping on, following the plan, keeping my Syns low and my Body Magic high-energy. This too shall pass.
Slimmer of the Week – and the Month!
I had one nice surprise this morning – a flying visit to my front door (socially distanced, of course) from my consultant before she heads off on holiday to Spanish shores.
My results hadn’t yet transferred from my old group but, now they have, it turns out I won Slimmer of the Month for June – and Slimmer of the Week in my first week of my new group to boot.
So another couple of certificates to add to the collection, along with a new recipe book called Happy Days, as I’ve bought a new countdown. Thank you for dropping those off, Tracy!
This weekend and next week should be fairly low-risk in terms of Syns – my plans for the weekend were cancelled due to having to self-isolate.
French films and Italian bubbles
So it’s just French films and a glug or two of prosecco for me in the back garden tonight. I actually love watching films outside on hot summer’s nights, so it’s no real hardship.
I just need to try not to get pinged again any time soon as I’m off to see Pete Doherty in concert next week, and I do NOT want to miss that.
Right, time to get the sun lounger out and begin a weekend of sunbathing, methinks. Self-isolation has its benefits.
Oh, and Plateau, your time is up. Do one!
