Slimming World Secrets

Snowboarder doing a big-air jump over a 2lb weight

I need to lose 2lbs in two weeks to hit Target

I am just 2lbs off the promised the land. In a fortnight’s time, I want to be a Slimming World Target Member for the very first time. I need to lose 2lbs in two weeks!

My week

  • Average Syns per day: 9.4
  • Average Speed foods per day: 7
  • SP days: 2
  • Body Magic days: 6
  • Result: +½lb
  • Total loss: -4st 12lbs

First, this past week. It’s been a gain. But it’s only ½lb on – and I kind of expected a gain anyway as I had a massive loss last week, and my scales have been showing a gain ever since!

I’m not going to beat myself up about it because I know I’ve had an angelic week. Sure, I could have had a bit more speed food and done more SP days.

But my average daily Syns were below ten for the first time since April and I have absolutely bossed it with Body Magic – five aerobics workouts, plus a bit of walking and gardening.

So to have a little gain, while not ideal, is OK because I know much harder it is to lose weight when so close to Target.

The final countdown: losing 2lbs in two weeks

So, that’s my final challenge: to lose 2lbs in two weeks. This is mainly because I have two weeks left on my Slimming World Countdown, and I don’t want to have to buy another!

Can it be done? Sure, it can! 2lbs is only the same as a bag of sugar, sugar! I just need a plan in place.

My plan will be to do pretty much what I’ve been doing most weeks since restarting Slimming World 18 months ago.

So, here it is:

My plan to get to Target in the next two weeks

  1. Keep Syns down to below an average of ten per day. If I only drink alcohol on the Saturdays and avoid it the other days, this should be easy-peasy as that’s where most of my Syns go. Crisps, chocolate and cakes are for other people.
  2. Up my Speed food, aiming for an average of ten a day. This fell quite low for me over the past week, but I have a massive fruit and veg delivery coming on Tuesday, so it won’t be an issue.
  3. Do more SP days. I’d like to have the weekends as regular Extra Easy days and then go for SP on the weekdays.
  4. Keep up the Body Magic – a minimum of five aerobics workouts per week, plus walking, housework and other bits.
  5. Eat plenty of F (fibre) foods. I have a bit of an issue in that my “movements” aren’t as regular as some people’s, so if I’ve not “been” for two or three days and am quite literally “full of sh*t”, I’m gonna be carrying that with me when I step on the scales!

You’ve come a long way, baby

To finish, I spent some time earlier inputting all my results from over the years into the Lifeline Online website.

This is because, when I get to Target, I want a graph of my journey from when I started in 2014 to when I finally lost 5st and got to the promised land.

Some of the gain spikes are unbelievable – mostly from holidays and Christmases, but this one is particularly epic – a 13lb gain.

I’d been unceremoniously dumped a couple of months earlier by my fiancée after less than six weeks’ engagement, so I was in a REALLY bad place and drinking like a fish – this was back in 2017.

This gain is the all-time group record, and was all in one week. It was Christmas, but even so. I have grown so much since those dark days, and breaking up turned out to be massively for the best. Life, eh? Ya live and learn.

I just wanted to post this here because it goes to show that, even when things are at their worst – whether in life, with Slimming World or with both, you can still turn things around. It just takes time.

It took me literally years to get back to my summer 2017 fighting weight – and to then go 9½lbs below it.

But if I can do it, when all hope looked to be gone, so can you, dear reader. Just remember that the next time your head’s not in the zone and you’re having gains week after week.

Stick with it – things will get better.

After seven years of playing at Slimming World, I finally got my head into gear and hit Target, losing 5½st. Since then, I've featured in Slimming World Magazine and won Woman of the Year twice. Not bad for a trans girl!
